Behavior Management
At WSPD Kids, our dentists are committed to providing compassionate, comfortable care tailored to your child’s unique needs. We understand that many children feel anxious—especially during their first dental visit or when they have specific concerns that heighten nervousness. While we use gentle, routine calming strategies, our team is also trained in advanced behavioral techniques to help every child feel safe, supported, and relaxed throughout their appointment.
Our expertise in early childhood development and pediatric psychology allows us to apply behavior management methods that are personalized for each child. We believe in open, honest communication between parents, patients, and our dental team to address any concerns and create a trusting, positive experience—helping your child build confidence in the dental chair from the very beginning.

Nitrous Oxide
At WSPD Kids, we offer nitrous oxide sedation as a safe and effective way to help children feel calm and comfortable during dental visits. Administered through a small mask placed over the nose, nitrous oxide (often called “laughing gas”) is mixed with oxygen and gently inhaled. It helps reduce anxiety and promote relaxation—without putting your child to sleep.
Nitrous oxide takes effect quickly and is not metabolized by the body, which means it’s breathed in and out efficiently. After the procedure, your child will breathe 100% oxygen to flush out any remaining gas, leaving no lasting effects. This type of sedation is especially helpful for children with mild dental anxiety or for shorter, routine procedures.
Recognized as one of the safest forms of sedation in pediatric dentistry, nitrous oxide helps ensure a more comfortable, stress-free experience for both children and parents.
